Administration

The Department is headed by the Hospital Administrator who is the Chairperson of the Hospital Management Team with the responsibility to pilot the day-to-day affairs of the Hospital and ensures that the best professionals are hired, motivated, deployed to the various Departments of the Hospital and adequately equipped to provide efficient and quality healthcare services to its teeming clients. The Department Plans, implements, controls, and evaluates people Management strategies that supports the development of healthcare delivery in the Hospital

Medicine

The Department champions health care delivery programs and operations with the aim of improving and promoting Quality health services in line with the objectives of the Health Services of the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos.

Accounting

The Accounts Department provides accounting services and manages the finance of the Hospital. Its responsibilities include recording accounts, paying bills, billing clients tracking of assets and expenditures. Managing payroll, inventory and other financial elements. We review the records of each Department to determine the Hospital’s financial position and any changes required to run the Hospital cost-effectively.

Public Relations

While we welcome you in our hospital, your safety, recovery and comfort are our key concerns.

The primary objective of the Public Relations Officer is to ensure that the image and reputation of OLA Hospital Jos is maintained and enhanced as an efficient, effective, responsible and responsive healthcare Service provider through high quality communications. The PR Department works to maintain and sustain the cooperate integrity of the Hospital and provide customer-focused and pragmatic Public Relations services. The Department has a Customer Care Unit which accords you a workable platform where you can channel their complaints, grievances and comments Every patient is special to us. All innovations, inventions, new concepts that we have developed over the years are informed by our desire of ensuring you have the best attention we can offer.

Pharmacy

The role of the department specifically involves the delivery of Pharmaceutical services that meet the universal standards of good Pharmacy practice aligned with the vision of the Hospital. The Department is strategically positioned to attend to the Pharmaceutical needs of our patients in the Hospital. We have qualified personnel that provides expert advice and information on drugs to the other members of the health care team as may be needed. Basically, our day to day activities entails interpreting prescriptions written by our medical doctors and dispensing appropriately. We offer professional counseling to patients on all they need to know about interactions and administration of their medications 24hours/7days a week.

Social Work-Pro-life Crisis pregnancy Center

Medical Social Work Department is one department that deals solely with the indigent patients in the hospital, having their needs as the top priority. The department serves as a spring-board to help lift the sick and needy from hopelessness to contentment. Core areas of specialization and concentration in the department include: Indigent patients (patients with accumulated bill with little or no deposit made), Patients that undergo Ectopic surgery and other major surgeries, Patients diagnosed with emotional trauma that is affecting their chemotherapy, Abandoned patients, Accident victims without relations around, Abandoned babies and all other social problems that are diagnosed during treatment. The department also liaises with other care giving institutions in the event of referrals, repatriations and advocacy.

Human Resources

We exist to develop and deliver people management strategies which support the Hospital Management’s overall strategic aims and objectives in line with the vision and mission of the Hospital. The Department contributes at both a strategic and operational level in order to identify HR priorities and recommend appropriate people management solutions which support business aims, in addition to providing customer-focused and pragmatic HR services. To provide proactive expert professional advice, support, counsel and guidance to department Heads, managers, supervisors, and staff on all aspects of People management, which fully reflects the Hospital Management’s desire to develop and retain a proactive Human capital develop and retain best talents in the Hospitality Industry.

Internal Audit

We perform procedures to obtain evidence about the amounts and disclosures in financial statements. The procedures selected depend on our opinion, including the assessment of the risks of material misstatement of the financial statements, whether due to fraud or error. In making those risk assessments, we consider internal control relevant to the Hospital’s preparation and fair presentation of the financial statement in order to design audit procedures that are appropriate for the purpose of expressing opinion on the effectiveness of the Hospital‘s internal control. We also evaluate the appropriateness of accounting policies used and the reasonableness of accounting estimates made by management, as well as evaluating the overall presentation of the financial statement.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession which is concerned with prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of clients/patients illnesses/diseases/injuries using Exercise therapy, Manual therapy and Electro-therapy by a degree-based, trained Physiotherapist. The Physiotherapists in OLA Hospital are registered and licensed medical personnel by the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board (MRTB) of Nigeria with membership of the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy (NSP). Our department is also furnished with modern equipment and provides/renders expert care/services to clients/patients bases on international best practices in the following:

  • In-Patient consultation and services in various conditions
  • Out-Patient consultation and services in various conditions
  • ICU, Pre-natal and Post-natal Physiotherapy services
  • Health maintenance and wellness services

These services are accessible in our Hospital from Mondays to Fridays for out-patients and everyday of the week for in-patients. We look forward to giving you the best physiotherapeutic services you require.

APIN / PEPFAR Program

The OLA/APIN supported site comes with an extra gloss to the work place, equipment and manpower enhancement. The coming of APIN gave rise to the installation of state-of-the-art automated equipment, training and retraining of personnel thereby positioning them to favourably compete with any modern on-the-job demands.

NHIS

NHIS unit of the hospital, with its result oriented and amiable NHIS staff. Come and experience health insurance unlike any other. NHIS, HMO's, PLASCHEMA Enrollees are attended to daily.

Some routine activities of the unit include;

  • Clearance/ verifying eligible of enrollees
  • Authentication
  • Collection of codes
  • Billing of claims
  • Follow up for payments of fee for service
  • Requesting for payment advice
  • Interactions with enrollees on benefits package
  • Attending to enrollee complaints
  • Calls, emails to HMO'S
  • Strict adherence to NHIS operational guidelines
  • ETC

The School of Midwifery

The School of Midwifery O.L.A Hospital Jos is licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria to train Midwives.

The Basic Midwifery Programme runs for a period of 3 calender years (6 semesters).

The School of Midwifery O.L.A Hospital Jos is dedicated to training professional Midwives who are dedicated and polyvalent in their services to God and humanity.

It is important to note the we do not do online transactions

Maintenance

The objective of the Department is to direct and coordinate the operational activities of the physical environment which include equipment maintenance, utilities operations and maintenance, building grounds facility protection and security, departmental safety and environmental compliance. The Department works 24hrs/7 days a week to ensure we have a clean environment, water supply is adequate, electricity supply to the Hospital is constant and our equipment are running at their optimal capacity to serve our clients better.
