On the 11th 0f March 2022, the Zonal Commanding officer, Zone RS4HQ, Assistant Corp Marshall Wobin Ayuba Gora of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Jos, came on a courtesy call to the Hospital. The FRSC boss who assumed in May 2021, came with some of his Principal officers, Deputy Corp Commander Elizabeth Ameh (DCC Nursing, Zonal Clinic), Deputy Corp Commander Dada M. Ulea ( DCC Policy Research and Statistics,). In his speech, he intimated the Hospital Administrator on the history of the Corps, and also on some of the giant strides made by Corp, one of which is body cameras on their men.

He complained of the attitude of motorists, whom he said always behave better when they are in other countries. He appealed that the Hospital drivers should be treated well, as they are very important. He praised the Hospital for their humanitarian work, especially towards accident victims brought to the Hospital by his men. He also asked that the Hospital oblige them with medical personnel when they call, to help in capacity building and outreaches. He appealed for a robust collaboration between the two organizations and promised to assist in every way possible when the Hospital needs it.

The Hospital Administrator, Rev. Sr. Jovita Egwu (OLF) appreciated them for the honor and pledged to continue to carry on with the good relationship. The Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr. P Olarewaju, (FNCFM), appreciated the Zonal Commander for the visit, as according to him, this was the first of its kind in the Hospital’s history. He suggested that some of our staff become special Marshals, a suggestion that was greatly appreciated by the Zonal Commander, who asked that the Administrator and the CMD also volunteer, while also encouraging volunteers from the Hospital. The CMD also advocated that the Hospital be used as an official eye testing center as we have up-to-date eye equipment.
